    Researchers synthesized novel indanamine compounds to evaluate their potential as hypoglycemic agents. However, none of the tested compounds demonstrated significant blood sugar-lowering activity compared to the standard drug tolbutamide.

    • To compare the efficacy of these novel compounds against a known hypoglycemic drug, tolbutamide.
