Background:

• Necrotising orbital cellulitis is a severe infection of the eye socket.

Observation:

• Two cases of severe necrotising orbital cellulitis associated with sinusitis are presented.
• Both cases exhibited rapid progression, extensive tissue necrosis, and abscess formation.

Findings:

• One patient developed panophthalmitis requiring eye evisceration.
• The other patient’s vision was preserved through repeated surgical drainage of orbital abscesses.

Implications:

• Aggressive surgical management, including drainage of abscesses, is critical for treating necrotising orbital cellulitis.
• Early surgical intervention can prevent blindness and mortality in severe cases.
