Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in stroke survivors.
  • To investigate the relationship between sexual dysfunction and neuropsychiatric impairments (e.g., depression).
  • To identify stroke characteristics associated with sexual dysfunction.

Main Methods:

  • A cohort of 100 post-stroke patients (75 men, 25 women) were assessed.
  • Sexual functioning, depressive symptoms (using Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression - HAM-D), and activities of daily living (ADL) were evaluated.
  • Logistic regression analysis was used to identify independent predictors of sexual dysfunction.
