Abstract:
This review describes biosynthesis and excretion of oestrogens in cattle as well as their concentrations in blood and milk during various phases of lactation. Possibilities for endocrinological diagnostic by determination of oestrogens in milk are presented. Furthermore, the biological importance of milk oestrogens for progeny and consumers are discussed.
