[The place of ultrasound diagnosis in urology]
Wiener Klinische Wochenschrift

Abstract:
Ultrasonic diagnosis is used in urology, as in other fields, for the differentiation between cystic and solid tumours and in the planning of radiotherapeutic management. A particularly valuable application of ultrasound is in the determination of prostatic size, which provides essential information of which the preoperative decision as to surgical procedure is based. Ultrasonic tomography also has a limited application in the examination of the scrotum.
