[The place of ultrasound diagnosis in paediatrics]

Ultrasound as a diagnostic technique is of rapidly increasing value in paediatrics. The great advantages of this procedure are that it is without risk of the patient and, hence, may be repeatedly carried out. Furthermore, ultrasound yields information which cannot be obtained by other methods.
