Abstract:
The new data that concern structure and functions of high-molecular-mass proteases in animal and human cells are presented in the review. The participation of ATP in mechanisms of proteolysis is considered. Considerable attention is paid to the role of high-molecular-mass multicatalytic proteinase in the regulation of intracellular metabolic processes, cell proliferation, transformation and apoptosis, its involvement in haemopoiesis and immune responses.
