[The factor of spread of POCT in USA]

In the U.S., with the adaptation of the Diagnostic Related Group/Prospective Payment System(DRS/PPS) of Medicare, and the spread of the Managed Care such as the Health Maintenance organization(HMO), medical services have become limited, and remuneration of medical practice has been markedly restricted. As a result, hospital management has been pressed, and cooperation, merger, and absorption of hospitals is observed among general enterprises. Hospitals have been making efforts to reduce expenses for survival. I introduced a part of the influence of such revisions on the clinical examination field, and the factor of the spread of point of care testing(POCT).
