Abstract:
Cyclic thioimides undergo photocycloaddition with tethered pi-bonds in a regiospecific manner to afford spirocyclic amidothietanes. These highly strained multicycles undergo a subsequent ring opening reaction to furnish novel fused pyrrolizinones.
