    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the role of IgE in provoking pulmonary function changes in rats.
    • To assess the efficacy of disodium cromoglycate in inhibiting IgE-mediated bronchospasm.
    • To determine the time course of protective effects of disodium cromoglycate.

    • Pulmonary function was measured in normal rats by assessing airway conductance and dynamic compliance.
    • Rabbits were immunized to produce antisera against rat IgE myeloma protein.
