Abstract:
The prognosis of pancreatic carcinoma remains poor. Surgical resection provides the only chance for cure. Prognostic factors and survival are similar between patients who underwent portal vein resection compared with standard resection. Isolated portal vein involvement should not be a contraindication for pancreatic resection.
