Purulent meningitis in infancy and childhood

Clinical features, humoral immunity and EEG findings in infants and children suffering from purulent meningitis are discussed on the basis of data collected in the last 10 years. Purulent meningitis is a grave disease with a bad prognosis and a mortality rate of 47 and 12% in infancy and in childhood, respectively.
