  • To evaluate the efficacy of INTACS micro-thin prescription inserts for treating keratoconus.
  • To assess visual acuity and corneal shape changes following INTACS implantation.
  • To determine if INTACS inserts are a viable treatment for contact lens-intolerant patients.

  • A prospective, nonrandomized comparative trial involving 10 keratoconus patients.
  • Patients received INTACS inserts (0.45-mm inferiorly, 0.25-mm superiorly) after corneal pachymetry and topography assessment.
