Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate and compare bone mineral densities (BMD) of the affected and unaffected sides in acute and chronic stroke patients.
  • To explore potential correlations between BMD, spasticity, motor recovery phases, and daily living activities.

Main Methods:

  • Dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) was used to measure upper and lower limb BMD in 30 acute and 30 chronic male stroke patients.
