Fracture of hip endoprostheses

The cases of two patients with a fracture of the stem of an endoprosthesis of the hip are reported. Reference is made to the possible biomechanical causes that may lead to such fractures. Apart from adequate surgical technique, the nature and the shape of the prosthetic implant deserve our full attention.
