Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the in vitro efficacy of gutta-percha removal from obturated root canals using ProFiles.
  • To evaluate the time efficiency of different retreatment techniques.

  • Forty-eight human root canals with 25-45 degree curvatures were instrumented and obturated.
  • Retreatment was performed using K-Flexofiles with chloroform, Hedstrom files with chloroform, ProFiles 0.04 taper with chloroform, and ProFiles 0.04 taper alone.
