Summary

Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs), including bFGF and KGF, are overexpressed in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This suggests these growth factors contribute to prostate enlargement by stimulating cell multiplication in both stromal and epithelial tissues.
