Summary

Uroflowmetry patterns show high variability among physicians and do not reliably correlate with urodynamic diagnoses like stress incontinence or detrusor instability. Flow patterns are not suitable for screening specific urodynamic conditions.

  • 129 women with genuine stress incontinence or detrusor instability provided uroflowmetry traces.
  • Four urogynecologists interpreted traces twice over 8 weeks.
  • Inter- and intraobserver variability assessed using kappa analysis.

  • Marked inter- and intraobserver variability in classifying uroflowmetry traces.
