Abstract:
Leiomyosarcomas of vascular origin are a very rare group of tumors developing from smooth vascular muscle cells. The most common location are in large vessels, e.g. vena cava, saphenous vein or pulmonary artery, but fewer than 200 cases are reported in the literature. We report a case of a patient with a leiomyosarcoma of the splenic artery. This location has not been described previously.
