[Helicobacter pylori infection as a cause of hypergastrinemia]

With the aid of the radioimmunologic technique, the content was studied of blood serum gastrin in healthy patients, those presenting with chronic gastritis under exposure to Helicobacter pylori (Hp+) and free from the infection (Hp-). The secured results suggest to us that (Hp-) patients have hypogastrinemia with antral localization of the pathological process. In (Hp+) patients, blood serum levels of gastrin are noted to be significantly higher than the analogous indices in essentially healthy subjects, (Hp-) patients presenting with antral- and pangastritis.
