    • Postoperative neurological complications following general anesthesia are infrequent but can necessitate urgent intervention.

    Summary:

    • Out of 120 patients, most showed no focal neurological deficits. However, 7.5% experienced consciousness crises, and 5% had transient limb weakness. Another 5% developed significant neurological deficits, including hemiparesis, with ischemic lesions confirmed by CT scans. Mild brain edema was also observed in 5% of cases.
    • Electroencephalography (EEG) findings included reduced theta frequency activity in patients with transient weakness.
