    Summary

    Gallbladder septations, congenital variations found in 3.8% of patients via X-ray, are often asymptomatic. However, proximal septations can mimic gallstones, necessitating surgery, and are associated with a higher frequency of calculi.

    Background:

    • Gallbladder septations are congenital anatomical variations.
    • Their prevalence and clinical significance require further investigation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To determine the prevalence of gallbladder septations in a patient cohort.
    • To investigate the clinical relevance, associated symptoms, and risk factors for calculi in septate gallbladders.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective analysis of 2,437 patients undergoing X-ray examinations.
    • Evaluation of gallbladder morphology, presence of septations, and associated calculi.
    • Correlation analysis with patient demographics and clinical data.

    Main Results:

    • No significant correlation was found with sex or age.
