Summary
The HLA-DR2 gene, specifically the DRB1*1501 allele, may increase susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis. However, DR2 subtypes did not significantly influence immune responses to Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigens in patients with active or inactive tuberculosis.
