  • Initial investigations revealed a right upper thorax mass with right upper lobe collapse.
  • Preoperative diagnosis was challenging, with initial biopsy suggesting inflammatory pseudotumor.

Findings:

  • The tumor recurred after initial surgery and chemotherapy.
  • Histopathological review confirmed the diagnosis of biphasic Pulmonary Blastoma (PB).
  • Despite treatment, the patient succumbed to complications following re-exploration surgery.

Implications:

  • This case underscores the diagnostic challenges posed by Pulmonary Blastoma in pediatric patients.
  • Lack of familiarity with PB can lead to diagnostic errors and delayed appropriate treatment.
  • Increased awareness and prompt histopathological review are crucial for accurate diagnosis and management of rare pediatric lung tumors.
