This study introduces N-6-metoxy-p-toluensulfonamide quinoline (TSQ) as a novel fluorescent probe to track zinc ion release from synaptic vesicles in brain slices. Potassium stimulation causes zinc-TSQ translocation, enhancing fluorescence in the extracellular space.
