Exercise in sickle cell anemia: effect on inflammatory and vasoactive mediators

Regular exercise is safe for African-American women with sickle cell anemia (SCA). Exercise did not worsen inflammation, and while nitric oxide metabolites (NOx) increased, this response was manageable.
