Summary

Adding both a protease inhibitor (PI) and a non-nucleoside reverse-transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) to salvage therapy significantly improved virologic outcomes in patients with NRTI treatment failure. This combination was superior to adding a single agent from either drug class alone.
