[Chemical constituents of Tetrastigma hemsleyanum Diels. et Gilg]
Abstract
Objective:
To investigate the chemical constituents of Tetrastigma hemsleyanum.
Method:
Compounds were separated by rechromatography on silica gel from the chloroform solubles of its ethanol extracts, and the structures were determined by spectral analysis and chemical evidence.
Result:
Three compounds were isolated and elucidated as 6'-O-benzoyldaucosterol, daucosterol and beta-sitosterol.
Conclusion:
All the three compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time, of which 6'-O-benzoyldaucosterol is a new natural product.
