  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Background:

  • Preterm delivery is a significant complication in multiple pregnancies.
  • Managing very preterm birth in multiples presents unique challenges.

Observation:

  • Six cases of successful delayed delivery of subsequent infants after very preterm birth of the first twin are presented.
  • Delivery intervals ranged from 14 to 117 days.

Findings:

  • The study highlights the feasibility of delaying subsequent births in specific preterm multiple gestations.
  • Proposed management includes tocolysis, antimicrobial therapy, and corticosteroids.

Implications:

  • These findings suggest potential strategies to improve outcomes for infants born after delayed intervals.
