[Androcentric and sociocentric approaches to the history of medicine]

Abstract:

The author raises two approaches to study medical history: androcentric and sociocentric. He declares his preference for the latter, and then he examines the Vargas Hospital of Caracas foundation and the fight against malaria in Venezuela from this viewpoint.
