Abstract:
In a 41-year-old woman a tunneled central venous catheter was inserted for parenteral nutrition. The antero-posterior chest radiograph suggested a correct position, but the patient developed pleural effusion with dyspnoea. A lateral chest radiograph showed the tip of the catheter in the posterior pleural space.
