Abstract:
The secretion of neurotransmitters requires formation of the SNARE complex, a protein complex comprised of vesicle and plasma-membrane proteins. Recent data indicate that the SNARE complex forms in stages, suggesting that its assembly might be one way by which synaptic efficacy is regulated.
