Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine the prevalence of chickenpox scars in children.
  • To identify the distribution and types of chickenpox scars.
  • To analyze scar characteristics such as pigmentation and morphology.

Main Methods:

  • A cross-sectional study involving 986 children who had chickenpox at least one year prior.
  • Visual examination for the presence and location of chickenpox scars.
  • Classification of scars based on pigmentation (hyperpigmented, hypopigmented) and morphology (depressed, hypertrophic, keloid).

Main Results:

  • Overall prevalence of chickenpox scars was 18.7% (18.5% in boys, 18.8% in girls).
