Summary

  • B-scan ultrasonography confirmed the presence of these optic nerve head drusen.
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the brain yielded normal results, ruling out other intracranial pathologies.

Implications:

  • This case highlights that buried optic nerve head drusen can manifest as optic neuropathy.
  • Early diagnosis through fundoscopy and ultrasonography is crucial for appropriate management.
  • It underscores the importance of considering optic nerve head drusen in the differential diagnosis of optic neuropathy, even in young individuals.
