Summary

Physiologic pacing may reduce atrial fibrillation and improve quality of life compared to ventricular pacing. However, it does not significantly reduce heart failure or cardiac death, limiting its broad indication.

Context:

  • Physiologic pacing (atrial or atrioventricular synchronous pacing) is hypothesized to improve cardiovascular outcomes.
