Abstract:
As the scope of technical practice continues to advance, technical specialists are impacted by increasing demands on their knowledge and skills. In this article, the author discusses the issues of credentialing for technical specialists and workplace trends that increase professional accountability. A program of studies, endorsed by two professional associations, addresses the educational needs of technical specialists.
