Observation:

  • A case series of four adult tourists who consumed contaminated fish in Vanuatu developed ciguatera poisoning.
  • All four patients responded favorably to intravenous mannitol treatment.
  • A fifth patient with similar initial symptoms was diagnosed with staphylococcal endocarditis and sepsis, highlighting diagnostic challenges.
