Hold the hardware: the use and abuse of tapes in clinical teaching and learning

The virtues and limits of taping in clinical learning are considered. Enamored of technology, we may at times use it unwisely. Appropriate client selection, teaching to develop good clinical memory, the need to differentiate verbalized assent from true consent, and related issues are examined and illustrated.
