Total serum protein and protein pattern among healthy Northern Nigerians

The total serum protein and serum pattern of 205 healthy adult Northern Nigerians were studied. Compared with figures from Southern Nigeria a relative hyperproteinaemia was found, but the A/G ratio was about the same. The increase in total protein, due to enormously raised globulin, is further accentuated by haemoconcentration, the effect of dehydration, resulting from the hot dry climate.
