Unclassified benign tumor of the rib. Osteochondroblastoma

A previously unclassified benign tumor of the rib is reported. The tumor was found in a 21-year-old black woman who presented herself with chest pain. After its radiologic discovery the exophytic tumor was resected. Histologically, it was composed of two seemingly independent components. The more central portion of the tumor was principally an osteoblastoma, while the more peripheral and greater mass of the neoplasm was chondroblastic. The name "osteochondroblastoma" is proposed for this lesion.
