Abstract
Objective:
To develop a method for survey of colorectal tumors.
Methods:
Mucus obtained by digital rectal examination was smeared on a slice to react with peanut agglutinin labeled by Horseradish-peroxidase.
Results:
Brown color was noted in positive reaction. In detecting colorectal tumors, the sensitivity and specificity of the method was 88.2% and 92.5% respectively.
Conclusion:
The method is effective in detecting colorectal tumors in humans.
