The Thin-Prep (TP) method showed superior detection of squamous intraepithelial lesions (SILs) compared to conventional smear (CS) methods. TP identified more abnormalities and had no false negatives in detecting high-grade SILs.

  • Conventional smear (CS) preparation is a long-standing method for Pap testing.
  • Newer technologies like Thin-Prep (TP) aim to improve sample quality and diagnostic accuracy.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the performance of the Thin-Prep (TP) liquid-based cytology method.
  • To compare TP with conventional smear (CS) preparation for detecting squamous intraepithelial lesions (SILs).
