This study reveals that N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor-dependent long-term depression (LTD) in rat hippocampus involves postsynaptic protein phosphatase activation. NMDA-induced LTD specifically reduces RC3 phosphorylation, not B-50/GAP43.
