Abstract:
New research has established a link between HIV patients being infected with a virus that is similar to hepatitis C and having a slower HIV disease progression. Investigators first began to study GBV-C in the mid-1990s as a possible cause of chronic hepatitis, but they quickly lost interest when the virus was shown to have no direct link to the disease.
