Summary

Pediatric cataract surgery using phacoemulsification with Acrysof intraocular lenses (IOLs) is effective, showing fewer complications and a lower neodymium: YAG (Nd: YAG) capsulotomy rate. This method significantly improves visual acuity in children compared to traditional extracapsular extraction with polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) IOLs.
