Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the clinical and radiographic outcomes of unconstrained shoulder arthroplasty.
  • To evaluate the safety and efficacy of this surgical technique.

  • A series of 36 unconstrained shoulder arthroplasties (24 total, 12 hemi) were performed on 29 patients.
  • Patients with glenohumeral degenerative arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, avascular necrosis, and proximal humerus fractures were included.
  • Pre- and post-operative evaluations used the Society of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons rating system.
