Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the incidence of thrombocytosis in critically ill patients.
  • To explore the association between thrombocytosis and patient outcomes, including ICU stay duration and mortality.

  • A retrospective study was conducted on 226 patients admitted to the ICU.
  • Platelet counts were analyzed to identify cases of thrombocytosis (platelet count > 450x10(9)/L).
  • Data on admission category, ICU stay duration, and mortality were collected and analyzed.

  • Thrombocytosis was observed in 21.7% of the studied ICU patients.
