[Biopsychological model of chronic pulmonary tuberculosis]
Abstract:
Examining 253 patients with fibrocavernous pulmonary tuberculosis (152 males and 101 females) yielded two variants of a biological psychosocial model of chronic pulmonary tuberculosis for males and females. The key points of the biological constituent are similar in males and females and the psychological and social constituents differ. Patients should receive all data on the disease, its course and prognosis from their physician. The efficiency of sociomedical rehabilitation of a patient with chronic pulmonary tuberculosis largely depends on his/her physician's awareness of a sick patient's inner life. Psychosocial correction should be made purposefully.
