Abstract:
A patient with recurrent major depression, parkinsonism, and pseudobulbar symptoms underwent a course of electroconvulsive therapy. Although his depression and parkinsonian symptoms markedly improved, his dysarthria worsened, resulting in cessation of further treatments. Possible mechanisms are explored.
