Background:

  • Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare and aggressive malignancy.
  • Ocular manifestations of PCNSL can be the initial sign of the disease.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess and characterize ocular involvement in patients diagnosed with PCNSL.
  • To determine the incidence and types of eye conditions associated with PCNSL.

Main Methods:

  • Prospective study of consecutive PCNSL patients from August 1995 to December 1998.
  • Systematic ophthalmological examinations were performed before initiating treatment.
  • Detailed recording of ocular findings and their relation to PCNSL diagnosis and progression.

  • The study included 24 PCNSL patients (mean age 57; 16 women, 8 men).
